Sunny Saturday morning and mild temperature totally dedicated to timed training. After a lunch break, a “double day” with two races for the TLC Trophy, Naked Bikes, Moto4, Mir Moto 5, Superbikes, STK600, Premoto3, SSP300 and Copa Motoval classes. Alongside the entertainment on the track and for enthusiasts and lovers of speed on two wheels, another edition of Paddock Fest. This was the setting for an excellent day of competition on the Estoril route.

TLC / NAKED BIKES

Among the brave ones in NB1, Duarte Amaral would achieve the best time with his BMW S1000R, after the two “cronos” sessions (1:47.122s), a mark that would also guarantee him Pole for what would also be his first race in the afternoon. 2nd overall would be Luís Franco (NB1) with 1:50.035s, followed by Frédèric Bottoglieri, the strongest among the NB2, with 1:50.135s. The first line of the grid was thus defined. Ricardo Almeida closed the TOP3 in NB1, being 4th overall. Marcos Leal (only one registered in the LC SS) and Fernando Mercier (only one registered in the LC OP) secured 6th and 9th place overall.

 TLC / NAKED BIKES – RACE 1

NB1 – Duarte Amaral with a quiet victory

NB2 – Frédèric Bottoglieri takes highest place

The start of Duarte Amaral (NB1) took the lead and very quickly “opened the distance” to the peloton. After just one lap, Amaral already had more than 4s of advantage. While the BMW S1000R driver set his pace, Frédèric Bottoglieri (NB2) grabbed 2nd position, leaving Ricardo Almeida and Luís Franco to fight for third place overall. With 5 of the 10 laps completed, Amaral was leading by more than 12s over Bottoglieri and with Luís Franco overtaking Ricardo Almeida on the previous lap to take 3rd place. Unfortunate, Almeida would end up stuck on the finish line with technical problems on his BMW 1000R.

Until the end, a race without history with Duarte Amaral winning prominently. Frédèric Bottoglieri was in the middle of the podium and Luís Franco closed TOP3. Marcos Leal (LC SS) and Fernando Mercier (LC OP), would be 6th and 8th overall.

TLC / NAKED BIKES – RACE 2

NB1 – Duarte Amaral with a double

NB2 – Frédèric Bottoglieri adds another victory

With the same grid formation as in race 1, the first row was given to Duarte Amaral with Luís Franco and Frédèdric Bottoglieri at his side. Green light and the rerun of race 1.

Amaral, with an exemplary start, took the lead in the race from which he would never leave, accumulating seconds of advantage very easily for another “walk in the park” and the one-two finish this Saturday. Second race, second victory and once again the strongest among the NB1, for the BMW S1000R driver, Duarte Amaral. Luís Franco and Miguel Sousa would be 3rd and 4th overall and make up the TOP3 of NB1

Frédèric Bottoglieri would once again climb to the middle of the podium in the general, and like Amaral, he did the double this time in NB2 where he was the only entrant in this round of the CNV. Marcos Leal (LC SS) and Fernando Mercier (LC OP), repeated the results of Race 1, being 6th and 8th overall.

MOTO4/ MIRMOTO5

Alexandre Cabá, rider from Team Motoclube Loulé, was the only one registered in MOTO4 and, as has become usual, he was dominant overall. With 2:02.081s, Cabá secured the best time by taking pole. In MIRMOTO5 the strongest was Henrique Vicente, clocking 2:06.338s, followed by Tomás Carneiro with 2:09.242s. Closing the TOP3 in the Lourenço Vicente class with 2:09.481s

Also noteworthy is the presence in the women’s category of Carolina Azevedo, Carlota Carochinho and Lara Pinto from Esc. Inic. Moto Racing Sintra to take 5th, 7th and 8th place overall.

MOTO4 / MIRMOTO5 – RACE 1

Alexandre Cabá cruises to victory in MOTO4

Henrique Vicente wins in MIRMOTO5

Failed start by Alexandre Cabá who momentarily found himself in 4th position. The mistake made by the young Team Motoclube Loulé rider immediately corrected when braking for turn 1 and again for turn 2 of the Estoril route where he returned to 1st position to immediately “gap distance” to the others.

With Cabá gaining almost 10s of advantage in just 2 laps, the fight and interest in race 1 was between three drivers from the MIRMOTO5 class, Tomás Carneiro, Henrique Vicente and Lourenço Vicente, who were competing for the middle and lowest position on the podium, running separated by few thousandths, but with a disadvantage for Carneiro who was losing time for the “Vicentes” duet.

In the women’s sector, Carlota Carochinho was the strongest and was running solidly in 5th place overall with her teammates (Carolina Azevedo and Lara Pinto) fighting for 6th and 7th place.

After 10 laps, Alexandre Cabá, without any type of opposition and more than 40 seconds behind the competition, won overall and in MOTO4.

In MIRMOTO5 the fight for the podium places would end up being reduced to the duet of Henrique Vicente and Lourenço Vicente with Carneiro isolated in 4th place overall and 3rd in the class from the middle distance. Second place overall was for Henrique Vicente, who left Lourenço Vicente more than 9s behind. Tomás Carneiro would be 4th overall.

Among the ladies, Lara Pinto lost the front of her MIR 250 in turn 2 on the 6th lap and retired. Carlota Carochinho finished her race in 5th and Carolina Azevedo in 6th.

MOTO4 / MIRMOTO5 – RACE 2

MOTO4 – Alexandre Cabá imperial

MIRMOTO5 – Henrique Vicente scores 2nd victory

With the same starting grid for Race 2, this time Alexandre Cabá would not miss the start and with just half the first lap completed, the young Team Motoclube Loulé rider was already more than 3s ahead of the MOTO4 / MIRMOTO5 peloton. Once again, Alexandre Cabá, with an exemplary performance, led from the traffic lights to the checkered flag to add another victory, the 2nd of the day and of this 4th round of the CNV to his already vast CV of successes.

The fight in this race was also once again left to the young wolves of MIRMOTO5, Tomás Carneiro, Henrique Vicente and Lourenço Vicente, who carried out some exchanges of positions in the fight for the intermediate and lowest places on the overall podium, but also for the class classification. Among the MIRMOTO5 at the checkered flag, the advantage would be for Henrique Vicente, 2nd overall and the winner in the class, soon followed by Lourenço Vicente, 3rd overall. Tomás Carneiro (4th overall), closed the TOP3.

In a separate race, Carlota Carochinho, Carolina Azevedo and Lara Pinto and Esc. Inic. Moto Racing Sintra closed the overall classification in 5th, 6th and 7th place overall.

CUP MOTOVAL / SBK / STK600

In the COPA MOTOVAL / SBK / STK600 squad, Ricardo Lopes (SBK) would be the strongest overall, securing Pole with 1:43.427s. Alongside him on the front row of the grid were the driver Gonçalo Ribeiro (STK600) with 1:44.538s and Rafael Ribeiro (STK600) with 1:44.697s.

Also noteworthy is the presence of the female World Superbike riders Ana Carrasco Gabarron, Sara Tamayo, Mallory Dobs and Adéla Ourednicková, who traveled to Estoril to take part in this CNV round as training for the WSBK Estoril stage in October.

MOTOVAL CUP / SBK / STK600 – RACE 1

SBK – Ricardo Lopes walks class

CDM1 – Ricardo Rodrigues imposes himself

CDM2 – Rafael Ribeiro unopposed

STK600 – Martim Marco irreproachable

Also in the COPA MOTOVAL / SBK / STK600 peloton, the grid alignment for Race 2 was the same as that of Race 1 with Ricardo Lopes (SBK) on Pole. Beside him Gonçalo Ribeiro (STK600) and Rafael Ribeiro (STK600). Rerun of Race 1 with Ricardo Lopes dominating at the start and taking on the costs of the race. Dominant, Lopes opened a time gap of 8s to the competition in the first laps. The SBK rider from Quaresma Racing Team did not leave any opportunity to others. Following him, Gonçalo Ribeiro, first among the STK600 at this stage of the race, was also running calmly and with more than 6s of advantage over Martim Marco and Rodrigo Valente. This trio led the STK600 classification.

Among the CDM2, Alexandre Suati, Rafael Ribeiro and Rui Palma exchanged pennants with Isaac Rosa (STK600), mixed in a fight for positions 5, 6, 7 and 8. In 9th place, the first of the CDM1, Ricardo Rodrigues, who fenced arguments with Wagner Pederneira and Manuel Teixeira.

After 15 laps of the Estoril circuit, Ricardo Lopes marked the perfect day in the CNV III with a double victory that seemed nothing more than a walk in the park. Lopes would also be first in SBK, as Manuel Pereira would only be 18th and 2nd in class.

Gonçalo Ribeiro would be 2nd overall and first in the STK600, accompanied by classmate Martim Marco who climbed to 3rd place on the podium. Closing the class was Rodrigo Valente, who was 4th overall.

In CDM2, Alexandre Suati, Rafael Ribeiro and Rui Palma were the top three, being 5th, 6th and 7th overall.

Among the CDM1 men Ricardo Rodrigues, Wagner Pederneira and Manuel Teixeira were TOP3, being 9th, 11th and 12th overall respectively.

PREMOTO3 / SSP300

PREMOTO3 / SSP300 – RACE 1

SSP300 – Dinis Borges with a hard-earned victory

PREMOTO3 – Vasco Fonseca wins with authority.

Very tight start between the front row riders with Dinis Borges (SSP300) taking the lead, but with Vasco Fonseca (PREMOTO3) and Martim Jesus (SSP300) a mere 0.110s behind. This is how the PREMOTO3 / SSP300 peloton launched the 14 laps of Race 1. An intense fight from this trio to liven up the public and the pits.

The 5th lap would dictate Vasco Fonseca’s rise to the lead with Dinis Borges in his wheel and an expectant Martim Jesus following the duo. At this stage of the race and by class, Fonseca was leading, being the best in his class (SSP300) with Martim Jesus and Vasco Camoesas being 3rd and 4th overall respectively. In PREMOTO3, Dinis Borges was 2nd with Tiago Martins and Frederico Guimarães being 5th and 6th overall.

But Vasco Fonseca’s lead would not last more than one lap with Borges retaking the lead by just 0.152s. The one who was late in the fight was Martim Jesus, who was more than 2 seconds away from this duet. The excitement was guaranteed all the way to the finish line.

Until the checkered flag the difference between Borges and Fonseca was never greater than 0.2s with a final advantage for… Vasco Fonseca in photo-finish by 0.038s. However Fonseca would be penalized with a long lap converted into 3s for exceeding the track limits. With this turnaround, Dinis Borges would be acclaimed overall winner and the best among the SSP300. Vasco Fonseca would be 2nd overall and first among PREMOTO3. Closing at the bottom of the podium, Martim Jesus. In the women’s category, Rafaela Peixoto was ranked 7th overall

By classes, Dinis Borges, Martim Jesus and Vasco Camoesas (4th overall) would be TOP3 in the SSP. Among the PREMOTO3, Vasco Fonseca was accompanied in the TOP3 by Tiago Martins (5th overall) and Frederico Guimarães (6th overall).

PREMOTO3 / SSP300 – RACE 2

SSP300 – Dinis Borges repeats hard-earned victory

PREMOTO3 – Tiago Martins the strongest

Dinis Borges, Martim Jesus and Vasco Fonseca… the first line of race 2 of the PREMOTO3 / SSP300 squad, which was also the last race of the day’s sporting panorama. The rematch of race 1 was anticipated…

A fulminating departure from the “usual suspects”, with Borges, Jesus and Fonseca beginning a new titanic fight for leadership. This was how the fight continued throughout the first laps with the trio setting the pace of the race among themselves. Vasco Camoesas, on the other hand, was running smoothly in 4th place overall.

Lap 5 would dictate two moments of misfortune. One for Frederico Magalhães who was forced to abandon due to mechanical problems. Exactly the same problem that would lead a very motivated Vasco Fonseca to abandon in turn 9 on this same lap when the engine of his Beon 250 stopped. This defeat by Fonseca left the fight for victory in the hands of Borges and Jesus, who maintained differences of a thousandths between them lap after lap. The person who profited from this was Vasco Camoesas who suddenly found himself in 3rd place overall after Vasco Fonseca’s abandonment.

At the checkered flag, once again there was a very short difference between drivers. This time between Dinis Borges and Martim Jesus, with Borges taking advantage of Jesus’ air cone and overtaking him for victory over the finish line by 0.126s. Borges thus won the last race of the afternoon with Martim Jesus in the middle of the podium. More than 22s behind the leader and to be 3rd overall, Vasco Camoesas. This overall classification would also be the TOP3 of the SSP300.

In PREMOTO3, Tiago Martins was the strongest, being 4th overall, and Naama Rosa 2nd in class, finishing in 8th overall. Rafaela Peixoto would be ranked 5th.
