CNV II PREMIERES “SPRINT” FORMAT

The Portuguese Motorcycle Federation (FMP) presented another novelty for the 2nd round of the 2026 CNV II. A pilot experience in the form of a challenge launched to the various CNV pelotons with the holding of 5-lap Sprint Races for JUNIOR, PREMOTO4, NAKED BIKES and 7 laps for MOTO4, SSP300, SPORTBIKE, SBK, SSP and COPA DUNLOP MOTOVAL scheduled for Sunday morning, which came to excite riders, teams and the public. Regarding the scoring, the sprint races would award half the points of a full race.

 

CNV JUNIOR and PREMOTO4 – SPRINT RACE

Jase Drill wins Sprint race in PREMOTO4 / Simão Viegas strongest in JUNIOR

Sprint race with 5 laps scheduled for the Estoril circuit for the group of 10 CNV JUNIOR (CNVJR) and PREMOTO4 (PM4) riders. The grid lined up with Tiago Tomé (PM4) in pole position with a time of 1:59.262s. Sharing the front row with 1:59.814s are Jase Dill (PM4) and Santiago Assolari with 2:00.467s. Also noteworthy is the presence of the women, Ana Martins, who lined up this morning in 7th position on the grid, followed by Carolina Azevedo, Lara Morais and Margarida Venâncio.

A clean and uneventful start for the PM4 riders, just like yesterday, taking the lead. Braking for turn 1 saw Jase Dill taking charge of the race. Santiago Assolari, Tiago Tomé, and Alex Albessard were close behind him. Among the JUNIOR riders, Simão Viegas held 5th position, with Ana Martins showing excellent form after yesterday’s crash, followed by Margarida Venâncio. Two laps completed, and the PREMOTO4 mini-peloton had already opened up a 23s gap to the JUNIOR riders. An intense battle ensued between Dill, Albessard, Assolari, and Tomé, with Dill holding a narrow 0.216s advantage over the others. Simão Viegas, Ana Martins, and Margarida Venâncio consolidated their positions.

Checkered flag with Tiago Tomé relegated to 4th position. Dill won by 0.013s over Assolari and 0.082s over Albessard, differences that accurately reflect the competitiveness of the category. In the JUNIOR category, Viegas added another victory to his weekend, followed by Ana Martins and Margarida Venâncio.

NAKED BIKE TROPHY – SPRINT RACE

Duarte Amaral calmly wins sprint race / Frédéric Bottoglieri, “another one” for his record.

Second sprint race of the morning with 5 laps given to the 12 riders of the Naked Bike Trophy. The grid formation is the same as Saturday’s, with Luís Franco (NB1) in pole position with 1:47.922s. Alongside him is Ricardo Almeida (NB1) with 1:48.000s and Duarte Amaral (NB1) with 1:48.030s. In the NB2 category, and current leader of the Trophy and yesterday’s winner, Frédéric Bottoglieri recorded the 4th best time with 1:48.258s.

Duarte Amaral (NB1) takes P1 with Ricardo Almeida (NB1) and Luís Franco (NB1) close behind. In the NB2 class, Bottoglieri was 4th overall, with Augusto Machado and Emanuel Arrais completing the dominant trio in 9th and 10th positions respectively. A comfortable race and victory for Duarte Amaral’s BMW, dominating from start to finish and always managing approximately a 2-second advantage over Almeida and Franco, who battled for the remaining podium places. Bottoglieri (NB2) was the strongest in his class. Frédéric Bottoglieri (4th), Augusto Machado (9th), and Emanuel Arrais (10th) made up the top three in the NB2 class.

CNV MOTO4 / CNV SSP300 / CNV SPORTBIKE – SPRINT RACE

Alexandre Cabá debuts with a “SPRINT” victory in MOTO4 / In SSP300, Camoesas imposes his leadership in the SPRINT / Tiago João is the strongest in the SPRINT Sportbike

It’s the turn of the CNV MOTO4, SSP300 and SPORTBIKE riders to take to the Estoril asphalt for the 6-lap sprint race. A single peloton bringing together the 3 classes with 22 riders lining up on the grid. It’s worth highlighting, once again, the presence of some MOTO JUNIOR GP and ESBK riders who took advantage of this weekend to compete in Estoril, but already with their eyes on the weekends of June 13/14 (MOTO JUNIOR GP) and June 20/21 (ESBK).

Starting grid with Tiago João (Sportbike) setting a time of 1:48.119s and securing pole position. Alongside him are Fermin Gemar (MOTO4) with 1:48.247s and Aimar Franqueza (MOTO4) with 1:50.553s. Vasco Camoesas, the reigning SSP300 champion, placed his Kawasaki 400 in 12th on the grid, while his main championship rival, Henrique Vicente, will start from 9th position.

Tiago João (Moto4), with a blistering start, put his Aprilia 660 in P1, followed by Fermin Gemar (SportBike) and Madalena Simões (SportBike). However, this lead was short-lived, with Gemar quickly overtaking Tiago João and gaining a 1.5s advantage. A similar scenario occurred with Eimar Franqueza applying the same pressure on Madalena Simões. In the SSP300 class, Vasco Camoesas led from 9th position, with Luís Vicente close behind and his championship rival Henrique Vicente only in 13th.

With two laps to go, Fermin Gemar pitted his Honda Talent, followed by Aimar Franqueza. Tiago João took the lead and climbed to the top step of the podium overall, being the best in the SportBike category. Alexandra Cabá took the lead in the MOTO4 class and secured 2nd place overall, with Gonçalo Melo Santos (MOTO4) overtaking Madalena Simões for 3rd place overall. In the SSP300 class, Lourenço Vicente, who led the class for the last two laps, couldn’t surprise Vasco Camoesas, who took advantage of the slipstream for the final overtake to win. Lourenço Vicente and Henrique Vicente joined Camoesas on the podium.

CNV SBK / CNV SSP / CDM – SPRINT RACE

Dany Soares the strongest among the CDM2 / Carlos Couto wins in CDM1 / Ruben Macuá surprises in Superbikes / Martim Jesus adds another victory in SSP

Last sprint race of Sunday with 6 laps for the 23 riders that made up the CNVSBK, CNV SSP and COPA DUNLOP MOTOVAL categories (divided into CDM1 and CDM2 categories). Grid lined up at Estoril. Once again Ruben Macuá (SBK) puts the Yamaha R1 on pole with Martim Jesus (SSP) and Luís Ferreira (SSP) alongside him. The only CDM1 rider, Carlos Couto, occupied the 19th position on the grid, being the strongest in the class, and Dany Soares in CDM2 occupied the 5th position. In the SSP category, Celestin Masy was 6th with his Kawasaki 600.

Green light with Luís Ferreira (SBK) and Dany Soares (CDM2) dominating the braking for turn 1 at Estoril, Ruben Macuá hoping for 3rd place overall, but battling with Martim Jesus (SSP). Four riders separated by only 0.85s. An intense race with Ruben Macuá (SBK) imposing his will and taking his Yamaha R1 to 1st position, relegating Luís Ferreira to 2nd. Dany Soares (CDM2) lost pace and saw Martim Jesus (SSP) take 3rd position. These positions remained the same until the finish line in the overall standings.

Meanwhile, in the SSP category, with Martim Jesus in 3rd place overall, Celestin Masy was comfortably in 6th and Frederico Guimarães in 9th. Carlos Couto, the only participant in the CDM1 category, was in 19th position. In the CDM2 category, Soares was in 4th, with Rui Palma in 7th battling with Raúl Felgueiras.

Positions remained consolidated until the end, with Ruben Macuá (SBK) winning overall, followed by Luís Ferreira (SBK) and Martim Jesus (SSP) in third.

Circuito Estoril.

 

STATEMENT I – 05/03/2026

CE – Circuito Estoril, S.A. hereby informs that with a view to identifying alternative models for optimizing the management of the sports infrastructure known as “Autódromo Fernanda Pires da Silva” or “Autódromo do Estoril”, a market consultation will shortly be launched, in strict compliance with the applicable legal framework, for granting a surface right over the real state of Circuito Estoril on which the aforementioned infrastructure and its supporting facilities are located.

As several measures are currently underway which are necessary to ensure the proper preparation of the above-mentioned market consultation procedure, it is noted that the documentation establishing the respective terms and conditions will be duly published on the Company’s website, and the consultation will be accessible to any interested party.

In the meantime, the Company will continue to carry out its activities, ensuring, in strict compliance with the applicable legal provisions, the organisation of motorized events at Autódromo do Estoril.

 

STATEMENT II – 19/09/2025

As publicly known, a court decision was issued on September 8, 2023, aimed at regulating noise levels resulting from the operation of the Estoril Circuit. This decision has been fully complied with by CE – Circuito Estoril, S.A. (“CE”). Committed to a spirit of continuous improvement in the operating conditions of the Estoril Circuit and its impact on the surrounding area, CE announces that, in early August 2025, it decided to exclude motorcycle track days from the list of events permitted at the circuit. This measure goes beyond the limitations imposed by the aforementioned court decision. Due to their nature, this resolution does not apply to sporting events (races or competitions), including training sessions for such events, as well as professional driver track training not associated with any sporting event.

The Estoril Circuit has always complied, and will continue to comply, with the legal rules regarding noise as well as what is determined in the sentence handed down by the Cascais Court, as can be confirmed in the monitoring reports on the company’s website. (Link)

CE further announces that, following the decision of April 24, 2025, to close Stand A, there is currently no anticipated date for the reopening of this infrastructure.
