MOTO 4 / MOTO 5

Tomás Carneiro wins in MOTO 5 / Tomás Garcia dos Santos consolidates his lead in MOTO 4

At the start of the second phase of this season, Tomás Carneiro holds the lead in MOTO 4, but is “tackling” Gonçalo Santos. Meanwhile, dominance in MOTO 5 falls to Tomás Garcia dos Santos, who returns to the Estoril circuit with 115 points, but with his teammate, Tomás Canarias, totaling 101.

With the timed results consolidated, the grid formation for the start of the second part of the 2025 MOTO 4 and MOTO 5 seasons was set. Naturally, the two MOTO 4 entrants, Samuel Di Maria and Tomás Carneiro, dominated, easily placing their BEONs on the front row, respectively, with Di Maria taking pole position. Rounding out the front row of the grid was the first Moto5 class, in the hands of championship leader Tomás Garcia dos Santos. Also worthy of mention are the female Moto5 class riders, Carolina Azevedo and Lara Pinto, who finished 8th and 9th, respectively.

A clean start, with Di Maria (MOTO4) taking the lead in the race braking for Turn 1, with Tomás Carneiro (MOTO4) having no choice but to follow. The two MOTO4 riders quickly opened up a gap on the remaining field, all of which were MOTO5 riders, with Tomás Carneiro being the strongest. But the sun would be short-lived for Di Maria, who crashed at Turn 4 on the second lap, losing the lead. The Beon rider returned to the track moments later in 6th place overall. With this “slip,” Tomás Carneiro took the lead and in less than three laps, he was already more than 17 seconds behind the other riders. In MOTO4, Tomás Santos was 2nd overall and leading the class, with Tomás Canarias in 3rd overall.

Carneiro effortlessly managed his distance and crossed the finish line on the top step of the podium, the strongest in the Moto4 class. Di Maria, for his part, after the initial setback, managed to race from back to front and finished 2nd overall, largely due to the difference in pace between the two classes. Di Maria thus moved into the middle of the podium in the Moto4 class.

Among the MOTO5 riders, Tomás dos Santos finished 3rd overall, but was winning the class. Meanwhile, Tomás Canarias held 4th overall, and João Cancelinha finished 5th overall, rounding out the top three in the class and the podium. Carolina Azevedo (MOTO5) finished 6th.

SSP300 / PREMOTO3

SSP30 leader Afonso Almeida scores another victory / Vasco Camoesas is on his way to the title.

In the SUPERSPORT 300 (SSP300), Vasco Camoesas is the driver in focus, as with 150 points this season, he held a large lead over Rodrigo Asensio (100 points) and Henrique Vicente (92 points). Also in the SSP300, Rafaela Peixoto and Carlota Carochinho also stood out, adding a feminine touch to one of the most competitive grids in the CNV. In PREMOTO3, leader Afonso Almeida, with 125 points, held a large lead over Alexandre Cabá, who would try to stay in the fight with his 85 points.

Qualifying closed with pole position for Afonso Almeida (PREMOTO3), flanked by Alexandre Cabá and Gonçalo Santos, drivers in the same class. Vasco Camoesas, the championship leader in SSP300, was also starting in 6th place on the grid. Cabá would ultimately not participate. The weekend also featured drivers Isaac Rosa (SSP300), who started in 11th place on the grid, and Marco Holt (PREMOTO3), 14th on the grid. They rode at Estoril only for practice, their performance not being included in the final standings.

The green light and the usual battle of giants under braking for Estoril’s Turn 1 gave Afonso Almeida (PREMOTO3) the advantage, who with a solid start managed to hold the lead. Gonçalo Matos (PREMOTO3) and Célestin Masy (PREMOTO3) took the lead. Vasco Camoesas, first among the SSP300s, took 5th place, with his class’s main competitors, Martim Garcia and Rodrigo Asensio, in 7th and 8th place overall. In the women’s category, Rafaela Peixoto and Carlota Carochinho were in 15th and 18th place.

A solid race for Afonso Almeida, who comfortably held a 40-second lead over the rest at the checkered flag. Another victory for the PREMOTO3 leader in the championship standings. The battle for the middle podium was fiercely fought, with Gonçalo Santos edging out a meager 0.130 seconds over Célestin Masy to secure 2nd place at the finish line. On the SSP300 podium, Vasco Camoesas took the top spot, finishing 5th overall, with Martim Garcia and Rodrigo Asensio celebrating alongside him, finishing 6th and 7th, respectively, in the overall standings. Young driver Rafaela Peixoto was the only female rider to finish the race, finishing 14th.

NAKED BIKES TROPHY

Luís Ferreira Unopposed in NB1 / Frédèric Bottoglieri Continues in NB2

In the highly competitive NAKED BIKES peloton, and in what is the 5th round of the season, after two stints in Estoril, one in Portimão and another in Jerez, Duarte Amaral (NB1) leads in absolute terms with 150 points. Frédèric Bottoglieri (leader in NB2) with 136 points and Luís Franco (NB1) with 134 points would be competing in this restart of the season.

With Duarte Amaral absent from the 3rd round of the CNV in Estoril, Luís Ferreira (NB1) took pole position in the return of the NAKED BIKES, much to the surprise of his main rivals. Luís Franco lined up alongside Ferreira in the same class, with the front row being filled by NB2 leader Frédèric Bottoglieri. Ricardo Almeida, in 4th, rounded out the top three in NB1, and had to drop down to 9th and 10th on the grid to find 2nd and 3rd in NB2, Marcos Leal and Anselmo Vilardebo. Honda’s guest rider, Bruno Gomes, would race alone in NB3.

The green light for 10 laps of Estoril saw Luís Ferreira take the lead, with Ricardo Almeida, starting from 4th on the grid, grabbing 2nd. Bottoglieri was closely following, with Luís Franco hot on his heels. With 5 laps to go, Ferreira (NB1) held an 11-second lead, and Bottoglieri (NB2) took 2nd, with Ricardo Almeida and Luís Franco battling it out for 3rd.

Luís Ferreira secured a clear path to the top step of the podium and became the strongest rider in the NB1 class. Frédèric Bottoglieri, 2nd overall, secured another victory on his way to the NB2 title. Ricardo Almeida grabbed the lowest step of the podium, finishing 2nd in the NB1 class, and Luís Franco finished in the top three in the class in 4th overall. Marcos Leal in 9th and Anselmo Vilardebo in 10th completed the TOP3 in NB2 and accompanied Bottoglieri on the podium.

SBK / DUNLOP MOTOVAL CUP / STK600

Sheridan Morais dominates in SBK / Jacobo Navarro wins in STK600 / Dany Soares tops in CDM2 / Wagner Pederneira leads in CDM1

In the powerful SBK class, Sheridan Rodrigues occupies the top spot in the championship standings. With 150 points, Sheridan arrived in Estoril comfortably, with Ricardo Lopes (100p) and Miguel Romão (80p) hot on his heels. In the Dunlop Motoval Cup and Class 1 (CDM1), Wagner Pederneira arrives in Estoril leading with 136 points, but with Tiago Pires (116p) and Manuel Teixeira (109p) lurking for an opportunity. In Class 2 (CDM2), Ricardo Rodrigues was the clear leader with 135 points, followed by Vasco Silva (93p) and Rui Palma (87p). Among the Superstock 600 (STK600) riders, Martim Jesus would come to Estoril to defend his championship lead, where he already has 115 points, against Vitor Silva, who with 102 points is his main rival at this stage of the season. A little further back, with 72 points, was Rui Afonso.

Unsurprisingly, and continuing his dominance, Sheridan Rodrigues (SBK) took his place on pole for the start of Saturday’s final race, scheduled for 15 laps. Alongside him was another SBK rider, Ricardo Lopes. Rounding out the front row of the grid was the first STK600 rider, Martim Jesus. Meanwhile, Dany Soares, the top-ranked CDM2 rider, started from 8th, and Wagner Pederneira, the current leader in the CDM1 riders, was 18th.

Sheridan’s cannonball start gave Ricardo Lopes no chance to bother him when braking for turn 1. Hot on the heels of the two SBK riders was Gonçalo Capote, who surprised everyone by coming from 6th on the grid to take 3rd place and the lead in the STK600. Three laps later, Sheridan had a 3-second lead over Lopes, but this time Jacobo Navarro (STK600) had “stolen” the spot from Gonçalo Capote (STK600), who was now battling with Martim Marco (STK600) and Martim Jesus (STK600). It was the beginning of Navarro’s “show.” Right behind him, Dany Soares led the CDM2 class. Wagner Pederneira moved up two places and was now 16th, leading the CDM1 class.

Two laps later, Ricardo Lopes saw 2nd place slip away to a very inspired Jacobo Navarro, who launched his STK600 in pursuit of Sheridan Morais. With a clear loss of pace, Lopes also saw Gonçalo Capote (STK600) take 3rd place overall at the start of the final lap. At the finish line, Sheridan had secured another victory this season, further cementing his lead in the Superbike championship. Meanwhile, Jacobo Navarro took his STK600 to 2nd place overall, winning the class. Gonçalo Capote finished the 15 laps in 3rd place overall, finishing 2nd in the STK600.

By class and as far as the TOP 3 are concerned, in SBK, Sheridan won and was accompanied by Ricardo Lopes and Daniel Coelho (7th overall) on the podium. In STK600, victory went to Jacobo Navarro in the company of Gonçalo Capote and Martim Marco (5th overall). In CDM2, Dany Soares won with Vasco Silva (13th) and Sérgio Fajardo (18th) completing the class. In CDM1, Perderneira (15th) adds and follows Tiago Pires (17th) and Manuel Teixeira (19th) closing the podium.

ESTORIL CNV#3 – Champions’ Sunday in Estoril

ESTORIL CNV#3 – Champions’ Sunday in Estoril

After the first day of competition in the return of the Campeonato Nacional de Velocidade (CNV) to the Estoril Circuit for the 4th round of this season (3rd visit to Estoril), it was a wintry Sunday morning that welcomed the drivers and teams for the second day of the sporting calendar. Rain and fog would dictate wet-track conditions for the warm-up in the various categories, forcing drivers and teams to rethink their entire race strategy and change their setup from the previous day. Expectations and some anxiety were evident in the pits, especially for some drivers given the importance of this stage for the various championships and trophies.

MOTO 4 / MOTO 5

Tomás Carneiro secures a one-two finish in MOTO 4 / Tomás Garcia dos Santos enjoys a perfect weekend

After warming up in wet track conditions, the brave young MOTO 4 and MOTO 5 riders lined up their machines again for the first race of the day. Following yesterday’s victory and the fastest time in the morning warm-up, Tomás Carneiro (MOTO 4) once again took his place in the middle of the front row of the grid. Pole position was, as it was yesterday, held by Samuel Di Maria. Rounding out the front row was the leader in the MOTO 5 class, Tomás Garcia dos Santos.

A wet track for the start of the MOTO 4 and MOTO 5 field, with Tomás Carneiro being the strongest braking for Turn 1, relegating a disgruntled Samuel Di Maria to 2nd place. Diego Ribeiro (MOTO5) surprised Tomás Garcia dos Santos in 3rd place. In the women’s category, the young riders from Fábio Racing Team, Lara Pinto and Carolina Azevedo, suffered crashes on the second lap, with Lara Pinto returning to the track and Carolina Azevedo retiring.

After five of the scheduled ten laps, Carneiro led by more than 30 seconds over Di Maria, who was dealing with the challenging conditions at Estoril. Further back, Santos and Ribeiro battled for third place overall and the lead in the MOTO5 class, with João Cancelinha waiting in the wings for an opportunity. In the checkered team, Tomás Carneiro added another victory to his list of achievements, setting the fastest lap of the race and securing a one-two finish in a perfect weekend. Samuel Di Maria finished more than 1:16m behind Carneiro and took 2nd in the class. In the MOTO5 class, Ribeiro and Santos battled to the finish line with narrow gaps between them. On the final pass, Santos took the lead. He won the class and was 3rd overall. Rounding out the top three and completing the class podium were Diego Ribeiro and João Cancelinha. One last highlight for Lara Pinto who, after falling on the 2nd lap and returning to the track, finished in a very honorable 7th place overall.

SSP300 / PREMOTO3

Afonso Almeida Untouchable in PREMOTO3 / Vasco Camoesas Crowned National Champion in SSP300

Second race of the day for the SSP300 and PREMOTO3, also in wet-track conditions. Afonso Almeida, victorious yesterday at Estoril in PREMOTO3, was once again on pole for Sunday’s race. Alongside him, Alexandre Cabá (PREMOTO3), who missed Saturday’s qualifying session due to mechanical issues, took his place this time. Rounding out the front row was Gonçalo Santos (PREMOTO3). Vasco Camoesas, the championship leader in SSP300, was in 6th place on the grid, and this was also a decisive race for him. Camoesas had a chance to be crowned champion at Estoril. In the same class, Rafaela Peixoto once again placed her Kawasaki in 17th place on the grid.

Tiago Martins (PREMOTO3) made a brutal start, jumping from 7th to 1st under braking for Estoril’s Turn 1. However, the BEON rider’s start was of little use, as earlier in Turn 3, Afonso Almeida, not letting his own reputation rest on his laurels, took the lead and immediately opened up a few meters of lead. Martins was thus relegated to 2nd place overall. Alexandre Cabá, on the other hand, with a less successful start, lost ground to his two rivals and lapped in 3rd place. In the SSP300 class, Rodrigo Asensio, 9th on the grid, made an excellent start and led the way, lapping in 5th place overall. Camoesas dropped to 8th place with Martim Garcia at his wheel.

With three laps completed, Cabá completed his overtaking of Tiago Martins, taking 2nd place overall and in the PREMOTO3 category, but the gap to Afonso Almeida was already too great (11 seconds) for the Honda Talent rider to dream of victory. The race was tight, with the PREMOTO3 category occupying the top 5 places overall. Meanwhile, Vasco Camoesas (SSP300) was trying to catch Asensio, but the gap remained at 2 seconds, with the Spaniard ahead. Rafaela Peixoto moved up the standings and was 10th overall. Alexandre Cabá (PREMOTO3) entered the final lap with a herculean effort in an attempt to catch Afonso Almeida (PREMOTO3). The gap between the two was closing, but it felt like it would be a difficult one. In the SSP300, Asensio managed 0.110s ahead of Camoesas, and Rafaela Peixoto, with an exemplary race from back to front, took 8th place and 3rd in class.

The checkered flag for Afonso Almeida in the PREMOTO3, joining the other riders with a one-two finish this weekend. Cabá was content with 2nd place overall and in class, and Marco Holt rounded out his performance on the podium. The battle between Asensio and Camoesas went down to the final corners of the Estoril circuit, with Camoesas proving his championship lead, overtaking Asensio and winning by a mere 0.115 seconds, becoming the 2025 SSP300 National Champion. Rafaela Peixoto was also smiling on the podium. Starting from 17th on the grid, she finished 8th overall and 3rd in the class. Celebrations and joy were rife among the TEAMRP27 rider’s team.

NAKED BIKES TROPHY

Luís Ferreira double victory in CNV#3 Estoril / Bottoglieri wins Naked Bike 2 Trophy 2025

Frédèric Bottoglieri, undisputed winner yesterday in NB1, was a man with a broad smile this morning. And he had reason to smile, as scoring points today was enough to celebrate the 2025 national title.

The starting grid featured the same lineup as Saturday, as a result of timed qualifying, with Luís Ferreira (NB1) on pole. In the same class and alongside him, Luís Franco lined up, with the front row of the grid being filled by another potential 2025 champion, NB2 leader Frédèric Bottoglieri. Ricardo Almeida, in 4th, rounded out the top three in NB1, and needed to drop back down to 9th and 10th on the grid to find 2nd and 3rd in NB2, Marcos Leal and Anselmo Vilardebo.

A clean start, now free of rain, saw Luís Ferreira (NB1) take the lead, followed by Ricardo Almeida (NB1). Hot on the heels of the leading duo, and with his sights set on the title, was Frédèric Bottoglieri (NB2), who saw his direct class rivals in 9th (Marcos Leal) and 10th (Anselmo Vilardebo). Gradually, Luís Ferreira opened up a gap over Almeida, and by lap 7, he was already 13 seconds ahead. Bottoglieri was cruising within sight of Almeida, heading for the 2025 Trophy title in NB2. Luís Franco (NB1), meanwhile, relegated to 4th overall and 3rd in class, found himself neck and neck with Nuno Farias. Luís Ferreira also crossed the finish line, adding his name to the group of drivers with two victories in this, CNV’s, 3rd time at Estoril. Ricardo Almeida finished in 2nd overall and in class. Luís Franco (4th overall) was on the podium alongside Ferreira and Almeida.

Bottoglieri was the man of the moment and celebrated winning the 2025 NB2 Trophy. Alongside him on the podium were Marcos Leal and Anselmo Vilardebo, 9th and 10th overall.

SBK / DUNLOP MOTOVAL CUP / STK600

National Speed Championship crowns Sheridan Morais as 2025 champion

Jacobo Navarro with another victory in the STK600

Wagner Pederneira continues his run in the CDM1

Dany Soares unrivaled in the CDM2

A 100% victorious rider this season in SBK, Sheridan Rodrigues once again took his place on pole for the start of Sunday’s final race. Alongside him was another SBK rider, Ricardo Lopes. Rounding out the front row of the grid was the first STK600 rider, Martim Jesus. Dany Soares, the best in the CDM2, started from 8th, and Wagner Pederneira, the current leader in the CDM1, was 18th. The final race of the weekend’s sports program kicked off, with Sheridan Morais (SBK) leading the way, but Ricardo Lopes (SBK) trailing closely. Meanwhile, Capote, Navarro, and Martim Jesus battled for third place overall. In the CDM1 category, Wagner Pederneira was in 11th place, and Dany Soares battled with Vasco Silva for sixth and seventh. A race without much history in terms of leadership. A true “walk in the park” for Morais, who with another uncontested victory maintained his 100% victory in WorldSBK in 2025 and crowned him the 2025 National Superbike Champion. On the podium alongside him once again was Ricardo Lopes (5th overall), who saw all chances of fighting for the title squandered this weekend. Rounding out the podium and the Top 3 in WorldSBK was Daniel Coelho.

In the STK600 class, Jacobo Navarro, who finished 2nd overall, won the class and was joined on the podium by Gonçalo Capote and Martim Jesus, who finished 3rd and 4th overall, respectively. Wagner Pederneira was the standout once again in the DUNLOP MOTOVAL 1 CUP (CDM1) with another impressive victory that solidified his title drive. Manuel Teixeira and Tiago Lopes rounded out the top three in the class and their respective podium finishes. In the CDM2 class, Dany Soares continued his excellent performance on Saturday, securing another victory, with Vasco Silva and Sérgio Fajardo joining the Yamaha 1000 rider on the podium.
